Bodies of Culture BIPOC Open Mic:

Join us for BOC’s monthly BIPOC Open Mic on Thursday, April 10th! Your favorite host, Melissa Ivey, takes over the Manos stage, featuring a talented lineup of up-and-coming artists, including BOC Mentorship alumni. This month, the featured artist is Ariele Macadangdang.

Sign-ups onsite start at 6:30, but you can sign up early with this link.

Ariele Macadangdang is a Filipina-American, multi-genre violinist and proud introvert. She enjoys collaborations with musicians in contemporary, folk, and euro-classical styles, performing locally as an improvising violinist in various Colorado-based bands, and occasionally as an orchestral musician. Passionate about songwriting, she performs her original music with her folk trio, Salome Songbird. The group has been honing their distinctive take on acoustic music, self described as “scathing lullabies,” and has released a handful of singles in 2025. As a violinist, Ariele has shared the stage in supporting roles for touring artists such as Disturbed, The Flobots, Kygo, Kali Uchis, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and others. In her spare time, Ariele loves hanging out with her cat, Cheese, making her husband watch anime, and playing cozy videogames.

About Bodies of Culture:

A program of Levitt Pavilion Denver, Bodies of Culture is committed to investing in and supporting BIPOC youth in the greater Denver area to participate in music through initiatives that celebrate cultural identity and self-expression, understand the healing power of music, and empowered musical self-discovery and exploration.

The Bodies of Culture board is composed of musicians of color throughout Colorado across a spectrum of genres. The board combines decades of shared musical pedigree with experiences steeped in advocacy and social change. As the The board progresses, they hope to recruit new members and engage a diverse group of emerging leaders.
