Field Trip: Assembly is a matinee theatre experiment that draws on the spectacle and script of Theatre of the Oppressed (Augusto Boal), reality TV, and other folk games through the guidance of our Jokers; creating several worlds of possibility to figure ourselves out of our everyday oppressions. Adopting the mad, the queer, the disobedient, and the fugitive behaviors of East Colfax and the Aurora Cultural Artist District into the independent venue of Manos Sagrados, Field Trip: Assembly invites liberation through play; transforms passive consumption of performance into embodied channels for activations of our agency and disobedient desire.
