Manos Sagrados is pleased to house the work of Brenda Vargas for Month of Photography Denver. The gallery will show her debut photography show, “Canciones de Mi Rancho.” Join us for the official opening of the show, and stay for our monthly Clavé Jam in the main room.

Brenda Vargas is a first-generation Chicana/Mexicana born and raised in Denver, Colorado. Her family roots trace back to Mexico City, which she considers the birthplace of her passion for art, activism, and community. Her goal is to make education and art accessible for youth and community. Vargas is a multi-disciplinary artist, focusing on painting and muralism, as well as photography.

“Canciones de Mi Rancho” is a love letter to her family rancho, located in Hidalgo, Mexico, focusing on her elders, a sense of place, and feeling. Vargas also made a zine of the photos of the same name, released in Fall 2024. Vargas works with digital and film, exploring new formats with new subjects.
